Innovations secure the future viability of a company, but are often neglected or there is no structured innovation process at all. In this compact and application-oriented seminar, you will learn how to implement an innovation process in your company that is derived directly from the corresponding innovation strategy. In addition, methods ranging from customer needs analysis and creative methods to the design of business model innovations will be demonstrated in order to fill the generic innovation process with life in a user-specific way.

Innovations ensure the future viability of companies, but are often put on the back burner, partly due to the current crises. Especially against the backdrop of dynamic markets, rapid technological development and unpredictable events, a systematic innovation process and a clear innovation strategy are essential to future-proof the company. In the “Ideation and Innovation Management” seminar, the necessary steps that make up an innovation process are approached holistically. This means that specific methods and examples for the various phases of the innovation process, backed up with practical examples, will be presented and discussed with you. The seminar will begin with an approach to designing the often neglected innovation strategy, which lays the foundation for the direction of your company's innovation activities. Methods for analyzing customer needs and ideation approaches will then be presented before the lecture on scenario and trend analyses shows you how to plan under uncertainty. In addition to understanding the market, however, the technology push, which is at least equally important, should not be neglected, which will be addressed thematically by presenting approaches to early technology identification and scouting, among other things.
The question of how to evaluate ideas in order to ultimately implement the best idea is answered in the ideas management topic block, before an excursus on sustainability highlights the relevance of the topic in new product development, not least due to the new EU directives. A workshop on business model innovation will address the need for business model adjustments, particularly in the case of disruptive innovations. Finally, we will look at the fact that these disruptions do not occur by chance and which success factors you can also use to innovate successfully in the corresponding presentation.
