Agile Product Development

Agile Product Development – overrated hype or future-oriented guarantee of success? In volatile times, the classical development approaches typically used in companies are reaching the limits of their capabilities. For this reason, manufacturing companies are increasingly using agile principles in the development of physical products. This results in a variety of potentials, as well as challenges.

Therefore we, the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT and the Complexity Management Academy, in cooperation with an industrial consortium, identified successful and field-proven solutions as well as success factors for the agile development of physical products.
